Trollstigen National Tourist Route Project, Norway

The spectacularly panoramic Trollstigen plateau is inaccessible during winters and witnesses over 7 metres of snow every year. The entire facility, which includes a restaurant, gallery, mountain lodge, reception and paths, uses cast-in-place concrete and corten steel, and is designed for durability with minimal maintenance. The project, conceived by Oslo based Reiulf Ramstad Architects, blends in harmoniously with the natural landscape and is engineered to withstand extreme stress without compromising the design aesthetics.
