Zaragoza Bridge Pavilion, Spain

Designed by British-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, the Bridge Pavilion was the gateway to the 2008 Zaragoza international expo. Currently a multi-level exhibition area, and footbridge, the 280 metre long bridge is designed to look like a gladiola, its fluid design giving a visual expression to the water theme of the expo. It is enveloped thousands of triangles of fibre glass reinforced concrete to create a complex ‘shark-skin’ pattern.
